All seemed fine to me, but a bit away from restaurants area in Rodadero. Apparently the hotel restaurant isn't recomended.

The apartment exceeded our expectations. However the area is nothing special.
We really enjoyed our stay. Great apartment and value for money. The facilities were amazing - great WIFI, AC, kitchen, Gym etc Taxi service is easy and affordable.
The area surrounding the apartment is average/run down. Because it's so quiet, It doesn't feel very safe and there is nothing to do unless you go into Santa Marta (20 mins drive).
